Petroleum Tanker Drivers Start An Across The Country Strike In Lagos


Loading exercises at both private terminals and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) stations in Lagos were on Monday came to a halt as Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) started an across the country strike to press home their requests for improved welfare.

The Apapa fuel depots included Total Oil and Gas, Capital Oil and Gas, NIPCO Oil and Gas, Aiteo Oil and Gas, Sahara Oil and Gas, Conoil, and in addition Mobil Oil and Gas.

The drivers were found discussing, while others were leaving the terminals for for different activities. Alhaji Taofeek Lawal, the Head, Corporate Communications of NIPCO, Apapa disclosed to NAN that all depots in Apapa were empty accordingly of the strike.

As indicated by him, there are no loading exercises going on presentlyt due to the fact that the tanker drivers are on strike.

He asked for the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), PTD, NNPC agents and different partners to find an enduring answer for the strike.
